HAPPY HOUR, BABY!

The “9 to 5” Monday to Friday routine goes on pause tonight. What’s the best way to celebrate? A fantastic happy hour. Are you heading out with co-workers or friends? Are you wanting to impress someone new in your life? Pittsburgh has a place for every occasion, and we’ve assembled five of our favorites.

Bridges & Bourbon

The senses come alive at the latest newcomer to the cocktail scene. Bridges & Bourbon, located at 930 Penn Avenue. This bar’s happy hour features signature cocktails ranging from classics to smoking modern twists…sometimes literally smoking…as in the Appalachian Trail. Happy hour cocktails start at $6, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.  For more info:https://www.bridgesandbourbonpgh.com/

Fl°2

Located Downtown at 510 Market Street in the Fairmont Hotel, Fl 2’s gorgeously gilded bar and stunning cocktails definitely dazzle. With many of their drinks invented in-house, the bartenders show their creativity. It’s cold tonight, so you might like their delicious and warming mulled Malbec.  Happy hour runs from 4pm to 6pm. Sienna Mercato

The top floor in this gorgeous three floor establishment, Il Tetto, consists of a glorious beer garden, perfect for those rare sunny days and evenings in the city. You will probably prefer the indoor bar tonight! With options of over 30 drafts, wines and cocktails, there’s a lot to choose from. We like the funky-sweet Cherry Cola Kiss. Happy hour special cocktails start at $4, from 4pm to 6pm. For more info: https://www.siennamercato.com/#iltetto

Meat and Potatoes

This intimate gastropub located right in the cultural district has a down-to-earth earthiness to it – as the name promises. But their cocktail menu will definitely help your weekend take flight. If you like the herby taste of anise, try their Absinthe. Or go with the Mexican Honey Bee’s tang of smoked honey, tequila and orange bitters. Happy hour beers start at $3, Bloody Mary’s are $5, and wines are $6, from 5pm to 7pm. For more info: https://www.meatandpotatoespgh.com/

Federal Galley

Located at 200 Children’s way, Federal Galley brightens up Friday with happy hour cocktails and beers on tap. Our favorite? Aliens Exist, whose vodka, St. Germain, and blueberry-lemon simple syrup mix into an extraterrestrial blue. Happy hour cocktails are half-off, 4:30 to 6:30pm. Lorelei

The fresh and easy vibe at Lorelei makes their classic bar and beer garden truly inviting. You feel as if you’re enjoying a mini vacation in the French countryside as you sip.  The savory flavor profile of their Elixir Vegetal seems just right for the our late-winter immune system: ancho, lemon, celery and jalapeño combine with Gruner Veltliner and Genever. Happy hour wines are $2 a glass, beers are $4 and special cocktails are $3, from 5pm to 6pm. For more info: https://www.loreleipgh.com/
