Thanksgiving To-Go

The Thanksgiving spread from Grand Concourse. Order yours today!

This holiday season, punch bowls are getting dug out from their closet hiding spots, table leaves plunked in the center dining rooms, and china pulled out from glass-shuttered cabinets. Why? Because after a year of limited crowds, toned-down celebrations, and caution, we’re gathering

And while we’re sure you’re over the moon to welcome friends and family back to your Thanksgiving table, the actual cooking may uproot less pleasant feelings. Let yourself enjoy the return of celebrations without the stress of cooking. Order a dining-room-table-sized, leftover-worthy holiday feast (or, just a dessert!) from one of these local eateries offering Thanksgiving to-go.

Khalil’s

If you’ve had the privilege to dine at sister-owned Khalil’s, you know their Mediterranean-style Thanksgiving dinner is worth getting excited about. Lamb shanks take pride of place on their non-traditional menu, along with Syrian-style ground beef stuffing, cranberries with pomegranate and mint, a delectable, flaky pumpkin baklava, and a few seasonal surprises.

The Khalil’s menu is available for dine-in and takeout. Order via email by Nov. 22 to place a carry-out order for pickup before Thanksgiving.

Pane é Pronto

Whether you want to order the full Thanksgiving spread or sides a la carte, Pane é Pronto by DiAnoia’s Eatery has you covered. Their complete Italian-inspired holiday spread for two casts aside turkey for porchetta, sidelined with stuffing, cranberry and fennel sauce, roast cauliflower casserole, and their signature, delicious cacio e pepe mashed potatoes. Everything – and more, including their freshly-baked loaves – can be ordered individually.

Place your holiday orders online for pickup on Nov. 24.

Scratch & Co.

Let pierogies take the stage on your table this holiday. Scratch & Co., recently crowned second-place at the Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival, has stuffed pierogies with everything from green bean casserole to sweet potato and marshmallow to apple pie.

Who needs turkey when you have 'rogies? Snag a few of the flavors frozen (may we recommend a few of each?) from the restaurant, at their pop-up inside Bar Botanico, or order online.

Grand Concourse

Feed the whole family (and then some!) with a crowd-sized takeout Thanksgiving courtesy of the Grand Concourse. The magnificent restaurant has matched its own magnificence by offering a 20-pound turkey as the centerpiece of this holiday dinner to-go. Bolstered with all of the fixings – whipped potatoes, gravy, cornbread stuffing, cranberry, candied sweet potatoes, salad, roasted vegetables, bread, pumpkin and pecan pie – you’ll be set for turkey day and a sandwich the next day.

Place your order by Sun., Nov. 21 via phone or online

Farmer x Baker

Thanks to Farmer x Baker, a seasonal cafe founded by the owner of Root and Heart Farm, Jen Urich, all of your dessert needs have been taken care of. The two-location café, market, and bakery is crafting a full menu of pastries, cakes, and bread fit for a holiday. Fill your table with a basket of their dinner rolls (there's a vegan version!) and finish off with a slice (or three, we don’t judge) of a chocolate peppermint tart or pink-hued poppy cranberry cheesecake.

All orders need to be placed by Nov. 20.

Bitter Ends Food

Pumpkin pie gets all of the attention on Thanksgiving, but we think the pumpkin roll deserves some credit. Find the spiraled, cream-cheese-icing-filled treat at Bitter Ends Food, a small Lawrenceville shop cooking up a handful of treats for Thanksgiving. Order your roll, and while you're at it, add a box of cookies, leafy green salad, or loaf of bread to your cart!

Sprezzatura

Homestyle cooking is at the heart of Sprezzatura’s Thanksgiving menu. Choose your favorites (we’re sold on their “instant app” package featuring two homemade dips) and you’ll be set for a stress-free Thanksgiving.
