Well, here we are again. Restaurants have already started altering dining options to follow the new food and beverage guidelines put forth this week by Governor Tom Wolf. It appears to be yet another disruption to Pittsburgh’s restaurant scene since bars and restaurants fully reopened during a short-lived Green phase, causing COVID-19 cases in Allegheny County to spike. This means that as indoor dining is eliminated, outdoor seating and take-out options will be the new normal.

But have no fear! Happy Hour doesn’t have to be canceled. Even during times of uncertainty, many of our favorite bars and restaurants are offering exceptional cocktail specials for takeout. From frozen margaritas, to daiquiries, to craft cocktails, you can take your Five O’Clock moment wherever you please.

Take at look at our roundup of the best places to get to-go cocktails this weekend.

Scratch F & B

Scratch is staying strong and continuing to dedicate their energies into providing quality food to costumers and support to local nonprofit organizations fighting food insecurity like Allegheny YMCA and Wesley Family Services. Public service and delicious drinks? Say no more.

From Scratch’s convenient carry-out window you can take home some of their most refreshing craft cocktails, like their Honeysuckle Old Fashioned made with Bourbon, amaro, honeysuckle, and orange, or their Poblano Vodka Mule. Enjoy their Papaya-Serrano Margarite, a sweet, semi-spice marg you’ll need on a hot summer day.

Con Alma

The jazz never stops, not even for a pandemic! Con Alma is continuing to serve up jazz and drinks right outside their front door. Though their dining room is open, drinks should be ordered online and enjoyed outdoors. Take your glass of sauvignon blanc or your Carrot Sangrita home, or maybe pull up a chair on their sidewalk stage and enjoy the live music.

Station

Though their dining room is closed, Station recently launched their online marketplace where guests can pre-order and pick up their favorite Station dishes in family style format or a la carte. They’re also taking cockail orders for this holiday weekend. Choose from three of their signiture drinks: The Hanky Panky, The Corpse Reviver, and The Penicillin. Two for $20 or four for $36.

Casbah

Casbah is adapting to the times by allowing guests to order take-out online from a limited menu. Enjoy cocktail creations like a Boyd & Basil, or a Casbah-Sangria To-Go. Their Springtime Mule and Black Walnut Manhattan are also available for pick up.

Mad Mex

Mad for a margarita? As of July 3rd, Mad Mex Shadyside is open for take-out from 11am to 9pm, meaning at any point during the day you can order an original or strawberry Mad Mex house marg frozen or on the rocks in 32oz takeout form. They are also offering many of their popular food items on a limited online menu, which can be found here.

The Vandal

Brunch, dinner, and to-go cocktails can now be ordered directly on The Vandal’s website and are available for pick up and delivery. Though their menu is shorter, They’re also offering a “dinner for two” takeout special for $35, along with dinner add ons and (wait for it) our favorite happy hour cocktails. Choose from signature drinks like their Summer Punch or Lavander Bees knees, or go for classics like a G & T, a Manhattan, or an Aperol Spritz .

Bar Botanico

If Bar Botanico wasn’t chill enough for you, they’re now selling cocktails and snacks from their beautiful garage door counter. Call in ahead or just stop by to try their Bruto Negroni, or Rye Old Fashioned. Their bar is stocked and ready to serve!

Vivo Kitchen

In the heart of Sewickley Village, Vivo has kept up with the COVID restrictions and created a Cocktail Cabana. Starting July 3rd at 5pm, their made-to-order cocktails can be taken to-go in pints or quarts and enjoyed right on their outdoor patio (masks required). With typical quirk and class, Vivo will continue offering classic drinks like “Even Arnold Palmer Would Be Mad” and “This Definitely Tastes Better With Booze”.

Stay tuned next week for our round up of our favorite restaurants with the best food takeout.
