Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh is one of the largest social service, recreational and educational organizations in the region, with a membership base of 20,000 individuals and serving more than 32,000 people annually.

For over 125 years, the JCC has been open and accessible to everyone, regardless of age, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or special need, the JCC welcomes individuals of all backgrounds, embracing their uniqueness and diversity under our communal tent. The JCC houses state-of-the-art fitness and wellness facilities, aquatics centers, gymnasiums, playgrounds, auditoriums, dance studios, classrooms and meeting areas. Comprehensive programming and services include child care and preschool, after-school and school’s-out programs, day and overnight camping, senior adult activities, fitness and wellness programs, special needs services, arts and cultural activities, social justice and civic engagement through the JCC’s Center for Loving Kindness and scores of programs for the community.

The JCC, even while managing unprecedented operational and financial issues resulting from the pandemic, is proud to provide and facilitate crucial, life-sustaining services and outreach across the Greater Pittsburgh region during the challenges of the COVID-19 epidemic, including:

• Food Insecurity: 43,569 meals served, distributed or delivered

• Blood Supply Shortage: Hosted blood drives that helped over 3,440 patients

• Social Isolation among Seniors: More than 8,628 Telephone Wellness Checks implemented

• Support for Working Families: 120 Enrolled in All Day at the J full day care for school age children; 195 in Early Childhood Development Center
