Slipping to Perfection

Morgan Levine uses colored slips to make her unique dinnerware.jpg

Morgan Levine makes functional pottery using tinted stoneware slips. The freshly-colored results reference 17th century Staffordshire slipware, Turkish Ebru patterns, Venetian marbled papers and French agateware. Each unique piece is made by Levine herself, and is a record of the fluid movement of her hands, her tools, and her materials.

A marvelous variety of patterns can be found on her website. A few of her patterns are featured on TABLE Magazine’s Spring 2020 cover. Small plates start at $70.
